Section five: fire
Fire, Flammability Decomposition: This product
is water dilutable and is made with water as one of the components.
It is not flammable.
Dry acrylic paint films are burnable. Thermal decomposition of acrylic
paint may yield acrylic monomers. This is hazardous to health. Do
not intentionally burn acrylic paint without proper ventilation
and protective equipment.
Not flammable in liquid form.
Section seven: handling
Handling: Keep material from freezing. Avoid
heating material excessively during use. High temperatures will
decompose product and release harmful vapor and gas. If burning
or high heat is unavoidable use in well ventilated area and wear
suitable respirator.
Product decomposed above 177 c. thermal decomposition is dependent
on time and temperature. Sanding dry paint films can create considerable
heat.
This product is a paint product. As with all paint products, “spraying”
by using air or airless equipment increases the hazards mentioned
above. The reason for this is because spraying vaporizes the liquid
thereby increasing the percentage of material in the air by many
times the amount that would be present under other typical application
techniques. If spraying the paint is required proper (extra) ventilation,
a full or half mask respirator, eye protection and skin protection
are strongly recommended.
Dust created by sanding dry paint film should not be inhaled or
ingested. Sanding with power sanders can create excessive heat which
can be hazardous.
